My work is to get to the root causes of conditions rather than to treat individual symptoms. I enjoy working with clients who spend too much time in their heads, hold a lot of tension in their bodies, and want to feel more at home in themselves.
My intention is for you to feel safe, seen, and supported in your body. Throughout our work together, I will spend a lot of time listening. You are the expert on your body and I want to understand your story and help translate that into the East Asian Medicine theories I’ve studied.
I’m a great fit for people who want to play an active role in their health but are overwhelmed with where to start; people who feel things deeply; people who believe in life-saving allopathic medicine, but are also looking for more; and people who spend a lot of time caregiving for others and could use a little support themselves.
Hello! I am a Licensed Acupuncturist and a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I’m a third-generation San Franciscan and come from a lineage of healers and educators. I was called to study this medicine because this whole-person approach to medicine integrates the mind, body and spirit.
We live in a world where we’ve become increasingly disconnected from our bodies and the seasons. We endure so much due to the repetitive stress of urban living. Acupuncture can amplify our ability to listen to our bodies’ needs.
I was first introduced to Acupuncture when my grandmother, who did not believe in acupuncture, found relief from persistent shoulder pain. I think this is why some of my favorite patients start off as skeptics. These tiny needles feel like magic, but Acupuncture is thousands of years old and one of the oldest forms of medicine that is still practiced today. More and more studies show the efficacy of acupuncture — which is helpful for those of us that are always looking for proof. I love acupuncture because there are parts of this medicine that feel spiritual, and yet at the same time, I can read current studies on Pub Med.
I studied Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and other lineages of East Asian Medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) in San Francisco. I completed over 3,000 hours of clinical and didactic course work over four years, working with patients at the ACTCM Community Clinic, as well as externships at Glide and the Women’s Resource Center, where I provided free auricular and community-style acupuncture in the Tenderloin and SOMA neighborhoods. In my last semester, I worked in an integrative setting, interning at the California Pacific Medical Center at their in-patient rehabilitation unit working with post-stroke patients and those with other neurological conditions.
In my free, time you can find me going on long, brisk urban hikes, at a local coffee shop drinking more coffee than any acupuncturist would ever recommend, practicing yoga, and trying to spend less time staring at my phone and more time enjoying this beautiful, sometimes gritty city.
